Updating HACCP Master 2000

Updating HACCP Master 2000 to the latest version is a simple task. To update your copy of HACCP Master to the latest version you must follow these steps:

1. Determine what version of HACCP Master you are using.
2. Download the latest update(s) for your latest HACCP Master version.
3. Apply the updates

The steps involved in upgrading HACCP Master 2000 are exactly the same for all versions of the product. The example on this page will demonstrate upgrading from HACCP Master 2000 1.0.1.71 to HACCP Master 2000 Advanced Edition 1.0.2.81.

Determining your version of HACCP Master 2000

To find out what Version of HACCP Master 2000 you are using:

• Start HACCP Master 2000
• On the Menu bar, click on the Help Menu, and the click on About.
  
• The following window should be displayed:
  
• This indicates that you are usig HACCP Master Version 1.0 Release 1.71. The version of HACCP Master you are using is Version 1.0.1.71

Download the latest updates

Now that you know what version of HACCP Master 2000 you are using, you can go to download page and download the latest update for your version of HACCP Master 2000.

1. On the download page, locate the table of HACCP Master versions and Updates.
2. Look in the column on the left for your version of HACCP Master 2000.
3. Once you have found your version, look in the column on the right to see the version of HACCP Master that you can upgrade to from your current version.
4. There will be a file to download (with an extension of .HMU). This is the file that is used to update your version of HACCP Master 2000. Click on that file and save it to your hard disk. Remember where you saved this file.
5. Once you have successfully downloaded the Update file you are ready to upgrade your version of HACCP Master 2000.

Please note, if you have an older version of HACCP Master 2000 you may have to go through this procedure more than once to upgrade to the latest version of HACCP Master 2000.

Apply the updates

Now that you have downloaded the Update file, you can update your version of HACCP Master 2000. A program called Envirohealth Update for HACCP Master 2000 will be used to perform the update. If you have HACCP Master 2000 1.0.1.71 or above then you will already have this program installed on your system. If you do not have it installed, it can be downloaded from the download page.

1. Start Envirohealth Update for HACCP Master 2000. This can be done by clicking on the Start Button (at the bottom of the screen) then selecting Programs, then selecting HACCP Master 2000, then selecting HACCP Master Update. You should be presented with this window:
   
2. The section labeled "HACCP Master 2000 Directory" will automatically be set to the directory where you installed HACCP Master 2000. Nothing needs to be changed here.
3. The section labeled "By applying the changes found in Update file:" is where will be specify the Update file that was dowloaded from the Envirohealth Web Site. Click on the "Browse" button and locate the file you downloaded.
   
4. Now click on the "Update" button. If the update was successful, you should see a window similar to the following:
   
5. Click on the "OK" Button and then click on the "Close" Button.

Congratulations. You have successfully updated your version of HACCP Master 2000.

Check the version

The last step in the update process is to ensure that you have succesfully updated to the latest version. Follow the same steps as detailed in "Determining your Version of HACCP Master 2000" and compare the Version and Release information.

In the Help | About box you should now see the latest version number.
